On the morning of July 1, 2024, Mekong Delta Gourmet Joint Stock Company (MDG) held the groundbreaking ceremony for their new food production plant located in Phu An Thanh Industrial Park, Ben Luc, Long An. The ceremony was attended by MDG’s board of directors, representatives from Asia Ingredients Group (AIG), including Mr. Pham Dang Long - Chairman of MDG and AIG Board Member, Mr. Pham Trung Lam - General Director of AIG, as well as representatives from the contractor Nam Phat Hung Construction Co., Ltd, IDDC Design & Consultancy Joint Stock Company, and other customers, partners, and leaders of Phu An Thanh Industrial Park.
During the ceremony, Mr. Pham Dang Long, Chairman of MDG and Board Member of AIG, expressed his hope that all parties involved in the project would proceed with cooperation, sharing, trust, and collaboration. He emphasized the importance of closely coordinating and working based on technical requirements to meet quality and construction progress in an open, straightforward, and decisive manner to achieve the best results. The leaders of MDG and AIG jointly performed the sand shoveling ritual, officially marking the commencement of the food production plant project at Phu An Thanh Industrial Park. Following this, the mechanical team from Nam Phat Hung Construction Co., Ltd began their initial activities.
The MDG food production plant project covers an area of 33.301m2, with a total investment of VND 420 billion and is expected to be inaugurated in March 2025. The project’s operations include the production of fruit puree and concentrated fruit juice with an average capacity of 20,000 tons per year, as well as the processing of frozen fruits and vegetables with an average capacity of 6,000 tons per year. Products from the MDG plant are processed and frozen using leading modern European technology and production lines.
The groundbreaking of the MDG food production plant marks the beginning of a highly promising project, expected to bring significant achievements to the food industry in the region and nationwide. In line with the "Help Us - Help Others - For a Better Life" spirit of AIG’s leadership, the project not only contributes positively to creating jobs for local workers, improving livelihoods, and promoting sustainable development, but also helps enhance the value of Vietnamese agricultural products in general and those from the Mekong Delta region in particular.
