On the afternoon of July 25, 2025, Asia Ingredients Group (AIG) welcomed Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Vinh Long Province, along with representatives from local departments and agencies, for a working visit to Asia Coconut Processing Joint Stock Company (ACP) – a key member of AIG’s high-quality agricultural processing ecosystem.

Elevating the Global Value of Vietnamese Coconuts

The coconut sector is one of Vietnam’s most important agricultural industries, playing a vital role in the economy of the Mekong Delta region. The merged province of Vinh Long, incorporating parts of former Bến Tre and Trà Vinh, currently has nearly 120,000 hectares of coconut plantations – accounting for over 50% of the national total. In 2024, Vietnam’s coconut-related export revenue reached USD 1.089 billion.

As a leading provider of comprehensive ingredient solutions for the food and life sciences sectors, Asia Ingredients Group (AIG) established ACP in the heart of Vietnam’s coconut capital with a clear vision – to become a pioneer in deep processing, strengthening ties with farmers, businesses, and local authorities to enhance the global value of Vietnamese coconuts.

ACP collaborates closely with farmers to develop organic coconut farming areas in Vinh Long.

Over the past decade, ACP has built and operated a state-of-the-art coconut processing facility using advanced technology transferred from Germany and Switzerland. Its diverse product portfolio includes canned coconut water under the Vico Fresh brand, desiccated coconut, coconut milk powder, coconut cream, and coconut oil. These products meet stringent international standards, including BRC, FSSC 22000, HACCP, Halal, Kosher, USDA, and EU Organic certifications.

During the meeting on July 25, Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien praised ACP’s significant contributions to the province’s economic growth, particularly in developing raw material areas for coconuts – a key crop of Vinh Long. He highlighted the company’s investments in international-standard deep processing technology and its integrated model with farming households, which drew strong interest from the visiting delegation.

From its early days, ACP has focused on building a resilient supply chain through close collaboration with local farmers. This not only ensures a stable supply of raw materials but also helps improve the livelihoods of hundreds of coconut-growing households by guaranteeing market access and fair pricing.

Notably, Asia Ingredients Group (AIG) is investing in the development of nearly 10,000 hectares of organic coconut plantations in Vinh Long. At the same time, plans are underway to construct a new, large-scale coconut processing facility equipped with advanced technology to expand production capacity and introduce more health-conscious and environmentally friendly products.

These initiatives reflect AIG’s commitment to fully leveraging the potential of Vinh Long while reinforcing Vietnam’s position in the global coconut industry and advancing its long-term vision of enhancing the value of Vietnamese agricultural products in international markets.

AIG Pioneers Deep Processing Linked to Agricultural Regions

Driven by the ambition to elevate Vietnam’s agricultural ingredients to the global stage, Asia Ingredients Group (AIG) has centered its strategy around four pillars: sustainable raw material development, product research, advanced processing technologies, and building a globally recognized Vietnamese agri-brand. Asia Ingredients Group (AIG) sees investing in deep processing facilities directly connected to raw material zones as a key solution to realize this vision.

For over two decades, AIG has developed a robust ecosystem of member companies operating advanced manufacturing plants across Vietnam’s most fertile agricultural regions – from the north and central areas to the southeast and Mekong Delta. Alongside Asia Coconut Processing JSC (ACP) in Vinh Long, AIG owns Asia Hoa Son Corporation (AHS) in Nghe An specializing in cassava-based ingredients, Asia Specialty Ingredients (ASI) in Hung Yen producing essential oils and natural flavors from native crops such as cinnamon, star anise, and basil, and Mekong Delta Gourmet (MDG) in Tay Ninh focused on tropical fruit purees, juices, and IQF frozen produce.

AIG’s factories are equipped with modern technology that meets international standards. Beyond production, these facilities serve as innovation centers dedicated to maximizing the potential and value of local agricultural resources. By investing in processing facilities near raw material sources, AIG fosters transparent, stable supply chains while contributing to sustainable socio-economic development in each region – boosting both business competitiveness and the global reputation of Vietnamese agriculture.

Thanks to superior quality that meets the demands of global markets, products from AIG’s ecosystem are now exported to more than 50 countries and territories, including the United States, Europe, Japan, South Korea, and emerging Halal markets in the Middle East. At global trade promotion events such as Anuga Food Fair (Germany), Foodex Japan, Thaifex Anuga Asia (Thailand), SIAL Shanghai (China), and Seoul Food (South Korea), AIG products consistently attract strong interest from international partners and customers. In October 2025, AIG will continue showcasing Vietnam’s finest agricultural ingredients at Anuga 2025 – the world’s largest food and beverage trade fair in Germany.

AIG’s product ecosystem has garnered strong interest from international buyers at global trade events.

With a clear strategic vision and consistent execution, supported by collaboration with local authorities and communities, AIG is helping reshape the global image of Vietnamese agricultural products. The Group is advancing Vietnam’s ambition to become a global hub for high-quality agricultural ingredient processing and export.
