Tapioca Starch Solutions – Enhancing the Value of Vietnamese Agricultural Products
Since 2018, AIG has invested in building the AHS Tapioca Starch Processing Plant under Asia Hoa Son Corporation, a member company of Asia Ingredients Group (AIG), in Nghe An, aiming to unlock the significant potential of this key agricultural product. The tapioca sourcing area of AHS is concentrated in four main districts: Anh Son, Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, and Ky Son.
Production Potential and Scale
Vietnam, ranked 3rd in tapioca production and 2nd in export turnover worldwide, currently processes over 8.6 million tons of fresh cassava annually, creating employment opportunities for millions of farmers and workers.
Initially considered a low-value staple crop, cassava has now become a high-value raw material through technological advancements, producing tapioca starch and glucose syrup used in the food processing industry. Tapioca starch, tapioca chips, and glucose have become one of Vietnam’s seven most promising export items for many years.
