Asia Ingredients Group’s (AIG) groundbreaking ceremony for the Second Coconut Processing Plant with world leading technology

On May 11, 2026, AIG officially broke ground on the Asia Coconut Processing Plant II (ACP2) at Long Phuoc Industrial Cluster, Vinh Long Province. This marks AIG’s next milestone as the Group moves toward celebrating its 25 years of journey of pioneering innovation and sustainable development, contributing to enhancing Vietnamese agricultural ingredients on the global market.

Major participants including Mr. Nguyen Truc Son, Member of the Standing Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Chau Van Hoa, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; along with leaders of provincial departments and local authorities; representatives from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group; domestic and international partners; as well as numerous guests and local businesses.

Developing Vietnam’s Largest Coconut Processing Plant Network

Asia Coconut Processing Plant II is the second coconut processing factory operated by Asia Coconut Processing Joint Stock Company (ACP), a member of Asia Ingredients Group. Following the success of Asia Coconut Processing Plant I, the new factory continues to leverage on advantages of Vinh Long Province, Vietnam’s coconut capital, thereby contributing to the strong growth of the country’s coconut industry.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony of Asia Coconut Processing Factory II, Nguyen Truc Son – Member of the Provincial Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial People’s Committee, highly appreciated the efforts of Asia Ingredients Group (AIG): “The company’s continued investment expansion sends a strong message to the investor community about the province’s transparent, open, and highly potential business environment. I believe the factory will soon be completed, helping Vinh Long’s coconut products reach further into international markets”.

Over more than 10 years of development, Asia Ingredients Group has continuously invested in developing Asia Coconut Processing Factory I, supplying global markets with a diverse range of products including canned coconut water, desiccated coconut, coconut milk powder, coconut cream, and coconut oil. To meet the increasing global demand for coconut-based products, Asia Coconut Processing Factory II is being equipped with state-of-the-art European production lines and machinery, ensuring compliance with the stringent quality standards of international markets.

Asia Coconut Processing Plant II further reinforces the leading position of AIG, contributing to elevating the global standing of Vietnamese agricultural ingredients.

Accordingly, the factory is being developed with three key components, including a UHT sterilization processing line transferred from Tetra Pak – the world’s leading food processing and packaging solutions provider with a capacity of 48,000 tons per year; a frozen coconut cream production line with a capacity of 16,000 tons per year; and two desiccated coconut processing lines with a combined capacity of 2,400 tons per year. All production systems and equipment are imported from Europe, meeting the strict quality requirements of global markets.

Mr. Frederick Cruchet – Managing Director for Project Management of Tetra Pak in Southeast Asia shared at the groundbreaking ceremony: “We are proud to accompany this project as a partner providing integrated solutions from processing to packaging for this key expansion project. This factory will not only produce world-class coconut products but also bring advanced coconut processing technologies to the industry”.

Mr. Frederick Cruchet – Managing Director for Project Management of Tetra Pak affirmed his commitment to partnering with Asia Coconut Processing Plant II to make the project a source of pride for Vinh Long Province.

With a total investment of nearly VND 630 billion and covering an area of nearly 60,000 square meters, Asia Coconut Processing Factory II is expected to commence operations in the first quarter of 2027. The project is anticipated to promote the expansion of industrial-scale coconut raw ingredients areas in Vinh Long, create more jobs, improve local incomes, and contribute positively to sustainable agricultural economic development in the region.

In particular, the investment and development of Asia Coconut Processing Factory II represent one of Asia Ingredients Group’s strategic efforts to position Asia Coconut Processing Joint Stock Company (ACP) as the largest coconut processing enterprise in Vietnam, while contributing to the vision of turning Vietnam into one of the world’s leading hubs for high-quality agricultural processing and exports.

The cooperation with IFC and the World Bank carries strategic significance not only for ACP Factory II, but also reaffirms AIG’s strong commitment to sustainable development and creating long-term value for Vietnam’s deep-processing agricultural sector.

Previously, Asia Ingredients Group welcomed and held discussions with Masayuki Omoto and the delegation from Marubeni Corporation to strengthen connections with international partners, aiming to develop globally competitive businesses and expand export opportunities for Vietnam’s indigenous natural ingredients.
