Continuing the series of activities marking its 25-year journey of development, Asia Ingredients Group (AIG) continues to accelerate the development of coconut raw ingredient areas in Vinh Long while implementing various community-focused initiatives.

AIG promotes sustainable development of the Vinh Long coconut raw ingredient areas

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in Q1 2026, Vinh Long Province had 122.87 thousand hectares of coconut plantations, accounting for more than 61% of the country’s total coconut-growing area and making a positive contribution to export growth. The coconut industry in Vinh Long has also strongly developed standardized organic raw ingredient areas that meet stringent standards of the United States (USDA), the European Union (EU), Japan (JAS), and other markets, with products currently reaching 90 countries and territories. Under the province’s coconut industry development program for 2025 – 2030, with a vision to 2045, Vinh Long has identified coconut as a key crop and a pillar of the local agricultural economy, with a focus on developing the coconut industry toward a green, circular, and modern model that is resilient to climate change and integrated into the international market.

As a leading enterprise in the production of natural ingredients and the provision of comprehensive ingredient solutions for the life sciences sector, with a modern Asia Coconut Processing (ACP) manufacturing system in Vinh Long Province, Asia Ingredients Group (AIG) continues to work closely with the local authorities and communities, making sustained efforts to develop the province’s coconut raw ingredient resources.

Building on its long-standing product procurement program, which provides stable market access for coconut growers, AIG has recently further strengthened its technical support program for farmers, contributing to improving the quality of the raw ingredient areas to meet international market standards.

AIG provides agricultural inputs and farming cost support to help farmers sustainably maintain and develop the Vinh Long coconut raw ingredient areas.

Under the program, AIG will provide agricultural inputs and partially support the costs of maintaining farming activities for more than 19,000 coconut-growing households across 18 communes in Vinh Long Province. The program will be implemented over more than two months, from late August through the end of October 2026, with a total budget of more than VND 9 billion. Covering approximately 11,057 hectares, the program will help farmers in several major coconut-growing areas of Vinh Long, including Hung Nhuong, An Dinh, Cang Long, Tan Hoa, and An Hiep, maintain their cultivation areas and ensure the quality of the raw ingredient area in a sustainable manner.

As one of the 19,000 farming households participating in the program, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoang, who owns 2 hectares of organic coconut plantations in Tan Hoa Commune, shared: “AIG’s support comes at the right time, helping farmers ease the cost burden and maintain production. When the company provides long-term support to the raw ingredient area, farmers also feel more confident in investing in and caring for their coconut orchards, maintaining quality and continuing to stay committed to coconut cultivation.

In parallel, AIG provides technical guidance and farming procedures while working closely with farmers to develop organic coconut raw ingredient areas. These efforts contribute to meeting the standards of international markets and supporting the implementation of Vinh Long Province’s coconut industry development program for 2025–2030, with a vision to 2045.

Highly appreciating AIG’s efforts, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Head of the Plant Production and Plant Protection Sub-Department under the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vinh Long Province, said: “Businesses working alongside farmers to stabilize and expand organic coconut raw ingredient areas will help improve agricultural product quality, contributing to the goal of building a green and sustainable agricultural sector while creating greater value for the coconut industry and farmers’ livelihoods.

AIG’s coconut processing plants are equipped with advanced technologies and equipment, contributing to leveraging the strengths of Vinh Long as a leading coconut-producing region.

Previously, in May 2026, AIG held the groundbreaking ceremony for Asia Coconut Processing Plant II (ACP2) at Long Phuoc Industrial Cluster in Vinh Long Province. This is the Group’s second coconut processing plant in Vinh Long, covering nearly 60,000 m² with a total investment of nearly VND 630 billion. Expected to commence operations in Q1 2027, ACP2 will not only enhance AIG’s coconut processing capacity but also drive the expansion of raw ingredient areas on an industrial scale, contributing to Vinh Long’s vision of building a billion-dollar coconut industry.

In particular, AIG has partnered with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, to provide advisory support in developing ESG standards and emissions management and reporting systems for ACP2. This collaboration aims to raise operational standards in line with a green and internationally integrated operating model, contributing to the sustainable development of the Vinh Long coconut raw ingredient area and enhancing the position of Vietnam’s ingredient industry in the international market.

AIG actively contributes to building a prosperous community

Alongside its initiatives to support the sustainable development of coconut raw ingredient areas in Vinh Long, in August 2026, AIG actively promoted practical and meaningful programs for the community.

On August 6, 2026, Asia Coconut Processing Joint Stock Company (ACP), a member company of AIG, in coordination with local authorities, handed over the Kênh T2 Rural Transport Bridge, measuring 18 meters in length and 3.5 meters in width, connecting Hamlet 6 and Hamlet 7 in Tan Hoa Commune, Vinh Long Province. The completed bridge provides a more convenient connection between the two hamlets, meeting the travel and transportation needs of nearly 7,000 local residents, as well as facilitating the transport of goods and agricultural products.

Previously, AIG continued to sponsor the Food Innovation and Development (FID) Competition, organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of Food Science and Technology (VAFoST) and the National Startup Support Center (NSSC). This marks the third consecutive year that AIG has supported the competition, contributing to the creation of an academic and practical environment where students can develop creative thinking and promote new ideas in food technology. The initiative also reflects AIG’s commitment to developing high-quality human resources and fostering innovation in the industry.

In particular, AIG continued to organize the 4th Asian Kite Scholarship (Cánh Diều Á Châu), awarding 396 scholarships with a total value of nearly VND 1.4 billion to students with strong academic performance, determination, and those facing difficult circumstances across the country. Launched in 2023, the Asian Kite Scholarship is a long-term AIG initiative aimed at supporting exemplary students who overcome adversity and are dedicated to their studies, including children and relatives of employees across the Group and partners working alongside AIG.
